Echinacea
Echinacea (Echinacea spp.), commonly known as coneflower, is a perennial herb in the Asteraceae family, native to the prairies and open woodlands of central and eastern North America. Recognized by its daisy-like blooms with raised, spiny centers and vibrant pink-purple petals, echinacea is a beloved garden plant and a herbal remedy.
Many parts of the plant – including the roots, leaves, and flowers – are used to support the body’s immune system, ease respiratory discomfort, and soothe inflammation. While echinacea is widely used in teas, tinctures, and wellness blends (including ours!).
Echinacea tea has an earthy, slightly floral flavor with a subtle sharpness and a mild, tingling finish on the tongue. It makes a comforting, grounding beverage, especially during seasonal shifts. To round out its somewhat bold profile, it pairs nicely with softer or sweeter herbs such as chamomile or spearmint. Blending it with rose hips, hibiscus, or a touch of honey can also brighten its flavor and create a more balanced, uplifting cup.
