Peppermint

Peppermint (mentha × piperita) is a fragrant perennial herb in the mint family (Lamiaceae), originating as a natural hybrid of spearmint and watermint. Its deep green, serrated leaves and invigorating aroma make it a familiar sight in gardens, along streambanks, and in cultivated herbal plots.

Peppermint leaves contain naturally occurring aromatic compounds – especially menthol and menthone – that contribute to its distinctive cooling sensation. Peppermint is used to support digestion, soothe occasional stomach discomfort, ease tension, and refresh senses. We appreciate the herb for its naturally uplifting, clarifying aroma, which makes the perfect cup of tea at the end of a long day.

Peppermint tea offers a bold, cooling flavor with bright herbal notes and a lightly sweet finish. It’s a brisk, invigorating brew that we enjoy after meals or during moments of fatigue. Peppermint blends well with other herbs – chamomile, raspberry, lemon balm, or others in the Lamiaceae family. Whether enjoyed hot or iced, peppermint provides a refreshing addition to any herbal tea collection. We love it as a base for several of our blends, including: Calm and Wellness.
